Stay out of God’s Way: Your Weakness is your Worship
In 2 Corinthians chapter 12, Paul asked three times for his prayer to be answered. However, he did not recognize the supernatural power he already had; instead he was trying to use his own strength which was in the way of God’s super-ability. For what God desired to do required Paul’s weakness, not his strength. The Lord replied to Paul in verse 9 “My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (ful-filled and completed) andshow themselves most effective in [your] weakness. [Paul realized] Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!” God’s grace always raises the barrier, not the strength of our best works.
