However, he did not recognize the supernatural power he already had; instead he was trying to use his own strength which was in the way of God\u2019s super-ability. For what God desired to do required Paul\u2019s weakness, not his strength. The Lord replied to Paul in verse 9 \u201cMy grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for\u00a0<i>My<\/i>\u00a0strength <i>and <\/i>power are made perfect (ful-filled and completed)\u00a0<i>and<\/i>\u00a0<i>show themselves most effective<\/i>\u00a0in [your] weakness.
