Ruth didn’t understand everything about her newfound binding commitment. However, she recognized the country of Moab had positioned itself as an enemy of God. She wasn’t clear about everything that was going to happen, but she knew in her heart what she didn’t want. Before you can successfully move toward your prosperity goals, be clear what you want, as well as, what you don’t want for your life and heritage.

This journey for Ruth was a leap of pure faith. Ruth saw absolutely no prosperity indicators ahead. In fact, all the evidence pointed to nothing but gloom, despair, and agony. However, she made a decision to go to a place she had never been, to be with people she had never known, and to live a life that first appeared laborious and dreadful.

Ruth experienced insurmountable grief with the loss her husband, her father-in-law, and her brother-in-law. She was leaving her birthplace, her heritage, her mother, her family and her sister-in-law. She chose to travel for over 50 miles in the company of Naomi who rejected and despised her. Ruth chose to accompany someone — for life — who found absolutely no value in her. Never underestimate whom God may send to help you to get to the next level. It may be the one you least expect.
