Turn your World Upside Down

“...These that have turned the world upside down

are come here also.”

Acts 17:6

You can turn your whole life around by simply believing the way God believes. Ephesians 6 commands us to be fully outfitted with the whole armor of God. Put it on and remember to use it. Invest in spiritual weapons that will furnish you with the unmatched power and authority of Jesus Christ.

            The breastplate of righteousness is one of the pieces of armor that establishes a reliable defense for your heart. Isaiah 59:16-17, “And He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore His arm brought salvation unto Him; and His righteousness, it sustained Him. For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation, upon His head: and He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.”

            In the Hebrew language, “breastplate” is defined as to direct, twist, or turn. When you are vested in the righteousness of God, you can exercise power and authority in Jesus Christ to turn your impossible situation around. You are then using your God-ordained advantage to make all things right, restoring order, balance, and wholeness in your life, home, workplace community, city, government, and nation.

The dictionary describes “turning” as:

Ÿ         to cause to move around so as to effect a desired end

Ÿ         to bend or change the course of

Ÿ         to cause to retreat

Ÿ         to obtain a final legal judgment in one’s favor

Ÿ         to defend, having the capability to resist attack

Ÿ         to drive danger or attack away from

Ÿ         to prevent the opponent from scoring

            So you see, the breastplate of righteousness should not be left idle. Righteousness is empowered to sustain you, so you can move about unrestrained. It stalwartly defends your beliefs and successfully maintains victory during spiritual warfare with the enemy, satan. Although defensive in nature, it is indeed militant simply because the violent takes by the force of the spirit of faith. It is not enough just to have it on like it is a fashion plate. Be disciplined to employ the breastplate of righteousness as indestructible artillery. It is a proven piece of God's armor. (to be continued)
