The flesh will always be an enemy of God, so it must not have any rights. In other words, it remains lifeless in its pursuits to interfere with or interrupt the Spirit of God and the Word of God. The works of the flesh are proponents against inheriting the kingdom of God in the earth because of its selfish nature. Galatians 5:19-21 catalogs them. “Now the works of the flesh are manifest which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulation, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” God foresees His desired value in you; you as His peculiar treasure who in Christ Jesus is qualified to wear the crown. If you don’t mature, you will only abuse your authority and/or consume your inheritance due to selfishness.
The Hebrew children were thrown in the fiery furnace were fit as kings. They planned ahead not to dishonor God, but to be a living sacrifice. Their response glorified God rather than man. They weren’t afraid to go into the fire. When they came out of the enemy’s furnace not even one hair was singed, nor did their clothes smell like smoke. They came forth like pure gold, although the enemy turned up the heat seven times hotter. Although the heat removes the impurities of the flesh, they didn’t get burned simply because their spirit man was king, their soul was a servant of righteousness, and their flesh was bound like a slave.
Instead the flame was extinguished because they were empowered to turn their impossible situation around knowing that Jesus had never left them or forsaken them. He was in the flame with them as the powers that be to redeem their life from destruction by delivering them from the fiery darts of the devil. Because their defense made them fireproof, the Lord became a very present help in trouble.
