Thy Kingdom Come

“Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory,

and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven

and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom,

O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.”

I Chronicles 29:11

There are two spiritual kingdoms operating in the earth today: The kingdom of this world and the kingdom of God. In the spirit world there are organizational structures with established chains of commands, spans of control, and laws just like there are in the natural. Although invisible, they both have the presence of kings and kingdoms, rulers and authorities. However, there remains opposing distinctions between the two.

First of all, the kingdoms are not equal in power. The Word reveals that the kingdom of God is greater than the kingdom of this world with these words found in I John 4:4. "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He [Jesus] that is in you, than he [satan] that is in the world".

Secondly, the kingdom of God births mankind by the Spirit of God, while the kingdom of the world makes enticing appeals to the flesh only. John 3:5-7 confirms the birthing process. "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”

Thirdly, once born again the faith of God in you is the victory that conquers the world and the lusts thereof, while the presence of fear keeps you defeated as testified in I John 5:4,5. “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?”

Fourth, John 14:16-17 speaks of the spiritual reinforcements that believers have that the world can't experience because it is beyond their physical senses. "And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you."

Fifth, by faith you can receive the peace Jesus bequeathed that secures order, balance, and wholeness. On the other hand, the peace that the world gives creates patterns of temporary pleasures that lead to addictive behavior of sorts, eventually premature death. John 14:27 shows the variances between the two kingdoms in the words of Jesus. “Peace, I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Lastly, the difference in lifestyle shows what you think of consistently reflects which kingdom is supported. Romans 8:6 explains how the thoughts of one's heart is set on affections of things above or on the distractions in the world through lusts. “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace”. Other notable scriptures that illustrate the kingdom of God and kingdom of world differences are: John 17:1-26 and John 15:18-27.

The kingdom of this world’s mission is to dethrone God and enthrone satan. With satan as its head, the protocol of its government is first, principalities, then powers, next rulers of darkness of this world and last spiritual wickedness in high places as Ephesians 6 profiles. The Word warns that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God because all that is in the world is (1) the lusts of the eyes; (2) the lusts of the flesh; and (3) the pride of life.

The kingdom of God’s mission is to enthrone God, and dethrone satan. God crowned Jesus with His own honor because of His great sacrifice. The government and rule are upon the shoulders of Jesus. Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He conferred His authority to all believers in His absence. Being equipped with the Holy Spirit and the Word believers can rule with the authority of King Jesus. To accomplish this great task, we have angels at our command to bring about the order, balance, and wholeness in the earth.

Through Jesus Christ, God already reestablished the earth under a “one world rule”, the kingdom of God with the following scripture to be fulfilled. Revelation 11:15 reveals, “...The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord and His Christ; and He shall reign forever and ever.” In the end, there will be only one kingdom left standing and fully operating as originally intended, the kingdom of God. With your active participation as king, results can escalate now. Then that scripture will be fulfilled and the presence of the Lord will be ushered in permanently and much sooner than later.

God’s sovereignty is established over His kingdom. So, it is in God’s power to give away His authority to whomever He wills. Be resolved that the kingdom of God has come to you if you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. You probably are familiar with the old adage “until kingdom comes” well it is here already. Jesus identifies its location in Luke 17:21. "Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for behold, the kingdom of God is within you." This is where it is: Either it is within you active or dormant or around you in other’s believers active or dormant. If you are not saved then it's waiting for you to acknowledge the authority of the anointing within after you invite Jesus Christ into your life as Savior and Lord. You have the choice whether or not the anointing can abide within you. God is no respector of persons. However, He is a respector of faith. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. By faith, the authority of the anointing can dwell within, which is the supernatural power behind the kingdom of God.
