Covenanted from the Cross
to the Crown
”...Yet He hath made with me an everlasting covenant,
ordered in all things, and sure;
for this is all my salvation, and all my desire...”
II Samuel 23:5
Begin to look through the blood of Jesus if you want to have a precise view of your life as God sees it. Through Adam “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23. God never leaves you short of anything. Therefore there is no excuse that can hinder you from having an intimate fellowship with God. You are not a sinner saved by grace. Your can't be crowned and "crown-less" at the same time. You have been made the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ. Because of this, the blood of Jesus Christ settled every debt you owed once and for all. Once you receive the benefits of the cross for yourself you are preserved blameless. Your past, present, and future are under the Blood when you simply ask for and receive forgiveness. As you mature, you will learn to pass up opportunities to come short of the glory of God. Instead you will stand faultless before God's glory. “Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen,” Jude 24-25.
The blood covenant presents you as a qualified receiver. The blood covenant makes you the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ. The blood covenant crowns you with God’s glory and honor. The blood covenant gives you the right to come boldly into the throne of grace. The blood covenant grants you the right to enter into God’s court and sit next to Jesus Christ. The blood covenant gives you authority that is highly recognized and accepted in heaven and earth.
God graciously invites you to the table to negotiate with Him. “Come now, and let reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool,” Isaiah 1:18. Salvation is a personal invitation from God to reconcile mankind to Himself. It is a miracle because it is impossible for something that is red to turn white unless you look through the provision of the blood covenant.
God exchanged all your sin for His righteousness. Your own personal net worth is the difference between what you own and what you owe. Receiving forgiveness from God includes forgiving self and others. You are a new creation simply because your past is in the past, so any weight you carry from now on should be the glory of God. The cross of Jesus exchanged all your indebtedness so you can receive His liberty to reign without any restraints.
The truth of the matter is the blood covenant mirrors an uneven exchange. God approved the terms of this agreement because He was in hot pursuit to win you back. No price was too great to purchase your salvation. He willingly and freely restored everything He originally intended you to have in the here and now.
Because of God's undying love, the blood covenant willingly gives everything God has to you for everything you have. Weaknesses are made strengths because of the strength of one covenant partner to reinforce the other covenant partner. God can't access earth without you. You can't access heaven without Jesus Christ. (excerpt to be continued)
